CURBSIDE ETIQUETTE

Through the Eyes of a Delivery Goddess

Below you will find links to dates when new entries are added. The stories will not necessarily be in chronological order, but rather as I remember them. I am dating them so that you can skip to new ones you haven't read since the last time you visited, and so that you are more easily able to find something you found humorous to share with others.

Curbside Etiquette Returns!

If I had a dime for each time I've been asked to "please start posting stories again", I wouldn't have had to take another job. Well... ok... maybe a DOLLAR for each request. Most of you who are in touch with me on a regular basis know that our newspaper delivery is headed down the tubes. No telling how soon there will no longer be newspapers, but we are hoping for at least three more years of delivery, at which time, our house will be paid off and we plan to retire to the Raycon Farm.

I do not intend for this to sound like a boohoo session, but because I've been absent from the digital waves for over a year, I'll just update everyone. There are two major newspapers in the Pittsburgh area, The Tribune Review and the Post Gazette. Six years ago, the Trib contracted Post Gazette (PG) carriers to deliver Tribs. They were then able to offer their paper at a lower cost, and many of the PG readers jumped to the Trib Ship. This past May, The Trib decided to take back their delivery, leaving a HUGE financial hole on our monthly balance sheet. I took two Trib routes to make up some of the loss, while Bob continues to deliver his PGs PLUS mine. We are both working way to hard and getting further behind, so, through the blessings of good friends, I managed to find a fellow who owns a pizza shop that is willing to take me on as a driver. The good news for all of you, is that I could possibly have some new stories to pass along. The bad news for me is, the luxury of my daytime flexibity is a bit less.... flexible. But, I feel like I'm going to be working for an incredible family, so the benefits will far outweigh the burden of lost freedom.

That said, I DO have one good newspaper story to tell ... but I will post that next week, just to get back in the groove of things. I can't make any weekly promises, but I will do my best to get back to a regular schedule. I miss sharing my life with everyone, but the rut I've been in has not really given me anything worth passing along. ... at least, nothing entertaining. I might be able to scrounge up a few other non-pizza stories over the next few weeks, and will share those as I remember them.

Thanks to all of you who so kindly compliment my stories, and I look forward to having some good humor to share soon.
